The Drug Testing Procedure:

Every sample gets tested for marijuana, cocaine and amphetamines, including ecstasy.
Tests for other drugs are done at random on different schedules for each lab. Some laboratories do test every sample for every drug. Commanders can request samples be tested for steroids. In this case, the samples are sent to the Olympic testing laboratory at the University of California at Los Angeles.

How to do the test:

Interpretation:

For a negative result, two lines appear. One colored line in the control region(C) and another apparent colored line appears in the adjacent test region (Drug/T). Control lines fail to appear in an invalid result that can be caused by insufficient specimen volume or incorrect procedural techniques.
This test provides preliminary analytical test results. In order to obtain confirmed analytical results, more specific alternate chemical methods like Gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) and gas chromatography/tandem mass spectrometry (GC/MS/MS) can be administered, particularly when preliminary results are positive.
